Case Study: Online survey / Genetic disease

Question. A major biotechnology company needed to understand how different types of U.S. physicians were aware of a certain rare genetic disorder, how they recommended treatment, and how they managed their patients with the disorder.

Answer. Six different physician types were assessed (pediatric cardiologists, pediatric intensivists, geneticists, pediatric neurologists, muscular specialists, ad pediatricians) using one online study customized to each physician group. Qessential handled survey design, recruitment, data tabulation, and final analysis, including extrapolation of data to the population and crosstabulations.

Results. A total of 170 surveys were completed, allowing the company to better understand the genetic disorder treatment in the United States as well as learn the best ways to develop messaging for physicians treating people with the disorder.

Factoid

Owls utilize their amazing eyesight to help spot prey. In addition to the upper and lower eyelids, the Snowy Owl has a 3rd eyelid called a nictitating membrane. This opaque membrane protects their sensitive eyes from sun glare so they can hunt with more precision in the stark white landscape.
