Case Study: Phone survey / International cardiac study
Question. A medical device company needed to understand the pertinent product applications, pricing and market barriers in North America and Europe as soon as possible.
Answer. In an accelerated time period of two months, Qessential conducted a phone survey with anesthesiologists and intensivists in the United States, Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Qessential handled all recruiting in-house, which included letters, faxes, e-mails and phone calls to potential participants, which were then screened prior to entering the study. Pre-screened physicians were (immediately or scheduled for later) surveyed by in-depth interview. Progress was monitored by the client daily.
Factoid
The owl's ear openings are directed forward which focuses sound waves into its ears. Strangely, an owl's ear opening on the right is higher than the one on the left, delivering sound from a slightly different angle and causing the owl to hear in 3-D. Experiments have shown this sense to be so effective that barn owls can locate prey in total darkness by hearing alone.
