Case Study: Focus group / Interventional radiology

Question. A medical technology company needed to understand the perceptions of their company and products by thought leaders in the interventional radiologists and interventional neuroradiologists.

Answer. Qessential conducted a full-service study to gather opinions on marketing strategies from an advisory board of thought leaders in an all-day focus group. The Qessential team developed a discussion guide, recruited participants, arranged for travel for the group, moderated the focus group, and reviewed discussion group tapes and a final report.

Results. The client was able to determine the current perception of their company, which allowed them to develop near-term goals for distribution and marketing.

Factoid

The owl's ear openings are directed forward which focuses sound waves into its ears. Strangely, an owl's ear opening on the right is higher than the one on the left, delivering sound from a slightly different angle and causing the owl to hear in 3-D. Experiments have shown this sense to be so effective that barn owls can locate prey in total darkness by hearing alone.
